ENLIGHT offers funding for joint educational initiatives again

The European university network ENLIGHT invites the University of Tartu staff members to submit joint projects to foster educational cooperation within the network. The application deadline is 15 May 2026. This is the final round of the ENLIGHT Incubator calls, with a total of 226,000 euros in funding.

All planned joint educational projects submitted for ENLIGHT Incubator grants must align with ENLIGHT’s aims and mission and six focus areas. Before applying, please coordinate your participation in the project with the head of your institute.

Joint educational projects are divided into two strands: joint study programmes and other joint educational initiatives. The funding for a joint study programme is up to 30,000 euros, and for a joint educational initiative, up to 20,000 euros. The grant can be used for project implementation from 1 September 2026 to 31 October 2027. The planned activities may continue after that date.

A project can be submitted jointly by a minimum of three universities (two in the case of virtual exchange, micro-credential programmes, or double-degree schemes), with one as the lead partner. Incubator grants can be applied for creating study courses, online courses, joint curricula, micro-credential programmes, study materials, etc. Joint educational initiatives can take various forms, such as hackathons and summer or winter schools. The grant cannot be used to develop blended intensive programmes. The grant can be used to cover travel and personnel costs, and organising and implementing events and meetings. Overhead costs, accommodation and students’ mobility costs are not eligible. If you are planning a course that requires students to travel to another country, please consult the UT Study Abroad Centre to see whether students’ travel and accommodation costs can be covered by other sources.
