In August, the University of Tartu Institute of Computer Science hosts two international informatics conferences which are both taking place in Estonia for the first time.
The International Conference on Software and Systems Process takes place from 24 to 26 August and it introduces the newest research to software enterprises and co–academicians.
The conference is coordinated by Associate Professor of Software Engineering at the UT Institute of Computer Science Dietmar Pfahl and the participants are researchers and scientists with an international profile. Among others, there are opening lectures from Wil van der Aalst from Eindhoven University of Technology, Lars-Ola Damm from Ericsson and Jürgen Münch from the University of Helsinki.
“On the first day, there are two practical workshops and three demonstrations which could be of interest to local IT companies,” noted Pfahl.
From 26 to 28 August the 14th International Conference on Perspectives in Business Informatics Research takes place at the UT Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and it is coordinated by Associate Professor of Software Systems Raimundas Matulevicius and Professor of Software Engineering Marlon Dumas.
According to Matulevicius, the conference focuses on research about business informatics and processes. There are also various workshops and, in addition, a consortium for doctoral students where the students have the possibility to get feedback on their work from internationally renowned researchers.
Professor Manfred Reichert of the University of Ulm and Associate Professor Marcello La Rosa from Australia will make opening presentations on business processes. The latter will also speak at the first conference.
Both conferences will bring participants from all around the world. Additional information about the conferences can be found at the websites: http://www.icsp-conferences.org/icssp2015/ and http://bir2015.cs.ut.ee/.
