Ambassador of Brazil visited the University of Tartu

On 8 August, the Ambassador of Brazil to Estonia, Mrs Rosimar da Silva Suzano, visited Tartu and met with Rector Toomas Asser.

Attaché of Cultural and Administrative Affairs of the Embassy of Brazil Vinícius Betsur Alvarenga Fernandes, Secretary General of Universities Estonia Hanna Kanep and Head of International Cooperation of the University of Tartu Kristi Kerge also took part in the meeting.

Together, they discussed potential areas of cooperation between higher education institutions in Estonia and Brazil, the development of existing cooperation, and the promotion of researcher and student mobility. The ambassador emphasised the desire to strengthen ties between universities and entrepreneurs in both countries to encourage the exchange of knowledge and experience. She noted that the embassy and the university can also cooperate in disseminating information about scholarships to boost the opportunities for students and researchers to study and do research abroad.

In the afternoon, the guests toured the University of Tartu Delta Centre.

The ambassador’s programme in Tartu also includes meeting Mayor Urmas Klaas and visiting the Estonian National Museum.
