The fourth University of Tartu Spring Run takes place on 15 April at 19:00, and for the first time, there will also be a children’s run. In addition to University of Tartu members, city residents and sports enthusiasts from other universities are welcome to participate.

Although discounted registration for the Spring Run has closed, it is still possible to register. Pay in cash at the event centre on 15 April.

The five-kilometre course starts next to the University of Tartu Sports Hall and runs along the river Emajõgi to the Town Hall Square and back. Participants can cover the distance at their own pace by running or walking. Registration for the run is open on the website https://www.tyspordiesindus.com/kevadjooks, where you will also find more detailed information about the competition classes.

In addition, the University of Tartu children’s spring run starts on 15 April at 17:00 and runs in the area around the University of Tartu Sports Hall. The children’s course is 400 m for children up to 4 years old, 800 m for children aged 5–7, and 1.2 km for those aged 8–11. The starts are given one after another from 17:00 onwards. Participation in the children’s run is free.

From 6 to 13 April, the price for all participants is 18 euros; on the day of the run, it is 25 euros. It is not possible to buy tickets on 14 April. Participants who have registered at the discounted rate must prove their status when picking up their race numbers.

In addition to overall standings, the Spring Run will also determine the fastest students, the fastest university, and the most active faculty of the University of Tartu. In cooperation with the Estonian Academic Sports Federation, the three fastest female and male students are announced, and the winners receive the title of Estonian student champion.

There will be raffle prizes as well as a musical and entertainment programme. During the run, the roads are partially open to traffic. Participants must obey traffic rules, road signs and signals from traffic controllers. Everyone is advised to arrive in good time to ensure a smooth start.
