International colleagues took part in Erasmus Staff Week

From 25 to 29 May, the University of Tartu hosted an Erasmus+ Staff Week, which brought representatives of partner universities from 12 countries to Tartu.

During the staff training week, participants were offered an engaging programme. The guests learned about the university’s activities, including mobility opportunities for its academic and support staff, the admissions support system, continuing education, and e-learning. “The main aim of the international Staff Week is to share good practices and know-how, and foster cooperation between higher education institutions,” said the organiser Karoliina Vilimaa-Pennarun, Erasmus+ Global Partnerships Lead.

Representatives from partner universities in Latvia, Czechia, Germany, Portugal, Ukraine, Albania, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa took part in the programme. In addition to the main programme, participants could meet colleagues in their specific fields of interest and take part in a rich cultural programme.

Erasmus+ is the European Union’s programme for education, training, youth and sport. One of its aims is to support staff mobility in higher education institutions in both the European Union and third countries. The programme enables academic and support staff to spend a short period abroad to teach or for professional development. All university staff are eligible to apply.
