Universitas Tartuensis reflects the university’s academic life and upholds its values. As editor-in-chief, I aim to maintain the magazine’s quality, foster open dialogue and offer diverse, engaging content to the readers,” Koovit said.

Kaja Koovit has worked continuously for almost 30 years in Estonia’s largest media organisations as a journalist, editor of economic and financial news, and head of business desks. In 1997, she received the Bonnier Prize, together with Väinu Rozental, for an article published in the Äripäev newspaper. She also brings experience from Eesti Päevaleht, Delfi and Postimees to the university magazine.

The magazine Universitas Tartuensis aims to enrich Estonia’s information and discussion space with well-balanced, evidence-based articles and, through stories connected with the university and its members, embody the academic spirit. The editorial team consists of three people: Editor-in-Chief Kaja Koovit, Executive Editor Merilyn Merisalu, and Language Editor Külli Pärtel.
