Representatives of Romanian royal family visited University of Tartu

On Tuesday, 20 May, representatives of the Romanian royal family – Her Majesty Margareta and her husband Prince Radu – visited the University of Tartu. In the university’s senate hall, Prince Radu delivered a public presentation about the security of the EU’s and NATO’s Eastern border.

In the English presentation entitled “EU and NATO Eastern border’s security. A Romanian perspective”, Prince Radu described the security topics of the EU and NATO through the Romanian experience. The presentation was introduced by Rector of the University of Tartu Toomas Asser. The presentation was followed by a discussion led by Thomas Linsenmaier, Analyst at Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies.

Margareta, Custodian of the Crown of Romania, is the eldest daughter of Michael I, the last King of Romania. She is dedicated to the development of the humanities and education sector and has also worked for the UN. Her husband Prince Radu is a reserve colonel.
