The awards are given out each year for the activities of the previous year. All university staff and students can propose nominees for the contribution to society award, the research award and the language award. Only students can propose nominees for the teaching staff of the year award.

Proposal of nominees and election of annual award recipients
All university members can send the award committee proposals for nominees for the contribution to society award, research award and language award. To submit a nomination, fill in the web form, specifying the name of the nominee or working group and describing the achievement worthy of recognition and its significance.
All students can submit nominees for the teaching staff of the year award via the corresponding web form. In the nomination, students must indicate their connection to the teaching staff member they are nominating and explain why this particular employee deserves the recognition.
Nominations for annual awards can be submitted until 20 December.
The recipients of the annual awards will be chosen by committees formed by the rector. The committee choosing the recipients of the teaching staff of the year award consists of students. The rector presents the awards in February at the ceremony marking the anniversary of the Republic of Estonia.
The list of the awardees of the previous years is available in the recognition database (in Estonian).
