From 17 September to 30 September, University of Tartu alumni are invited to take part in a survey aimed at understanding alumni expectations, needs and their sense of connection to the university.

According to Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Aune Valk, University of Tartu alumni play a prominent role in the university’s identity, so it is important to take their expectations and feedback into account. By gathering alumni perspectives, the university aims to make its cooperation with graduates more responsive to their needs and to foster a closer relationship with the alumni community.

The survey is open to all who have completed bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral studies at the University of Tartu. Graduates of micro-degree and continuing education programmes are not included.

Survey invitations will be sent by email to alumni whose current email addresses are available to the University of Tartu and who have consented to receive such information. Through the university’s communication channels, alumni who do not receive a personal invitation will also be encouraged to participate. Completing the survey takes approximately 15 minutes.

Participation in the survey is voluntary and anonymous. Responses will not be linked to individual participants, respondents’ IP addresses will not be collected, and email addresses will be used solely to sendsurvey invitations. Results will be reported only in aggregated form.

The survey consists of two parts: a quantitative part (questionnaire) and a qualitative part (focus group interviews). The questionnaire will be open for four weeks, from 17 September to 30 September. Focus group interviews will take place between during October. Participants interested in taking part in a focus group can indicate their interest when completing the questionnaire.

The survey is conducted by Emor on behalf of the University of Tartu, and the company will also analyse the collected responses.
