One of the biggest innovations of this year’s Spring Run was the children’s run, which was held for the first time. On the five-kilometre course, there were two pace groups led by Tiit Pekk, Vice-President of the Estonian Olympic Committee, and Gert Prants, Chair of the Board of the University of Tartu Academic Sports Club. Before the start, participants were welcome to guided warm-up and relaxation sessions. They could also try basketball shots and disc golf throws. The Sports Museum offered an opportunity to test reaction speed.

Well-known Estonian athletes competing in endurance fields, including elite runners Karel and Liis-Grete Hussar, marathoner Lily Luik, runners Minna Kelk and Johannes Laur, multisport athlete Sille Puhu, and triathlete Anette Zukker also took part in the Spring Run.

In men’s overall standings, the top three places went to Martin Vilismäe, Johannes Laur and Sten Sihver. Liis-Grete Hussar claimed victory in the women’s competition, followed by Hanka Mühlberg and Marleen Koll.

The participating educational institutions included the University of Tartu, the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences, the Estonian University of Life Sciences, the Estonian Aviation Academy, Tartu Applied Health Sciences University, Tallinn University of Technology, Tallinn University of Technology, Tallinn University, Tallinn Health University of Applied Sciences, Pallas University of Applied Sciences, and the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences.

The University of Tartu received the title of the fastest higher education institution at the Spring Run.
