On 16 May, the Estonian Doctoral School Career Conference will be held in Tallinn to discuss the value of doctoral studies and the career prospects of doctoral students. All Estonian doctoral students and those interested in doctoral studies are welcome to attend.

On Saturday, 4 November, the Estonian entrepreneurship awards of 2023 were presented. University of Tartu's spin-off Icosagen Cell Factory won the titles of the Innovator of the Year and the Company of the Year.
At the conference "Empowering Women for Leadership in Technology and Industry", held at the University of Tartu Delta Centre on 17 October, executives from several prestigious companies spoke about their career paths and lessons learned.
Dmytro Fishman is a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence at the Institute of Computer Science, University of Tartu. He is also the co-founder and the Chief Science Officer of Better Medicine, a medical imaging startup that is building intelligent tools to enable doctors to diagnose cancer more efficiently.
Patent attorney Ian Tollett will provide valuable insights on safeguarding inventions at a seminar on 22 November at 14:00 at the University of Tartu Chemicum (Ravila 14a), Room 1020. All are welcome to attend.
On 16 October, the first cooperation seminar of Tallinn University of Technology and the University of Tartu’s consortium of the Just Transition Fund was held at the Virumaa College of the Tallinn University of Technology. The event brought together 22 research teams whose work will help develop technologies and monitor societal transition in the Ida-Viru region over the next six years.
On 13 November, the Delta Trends Day 2023 "Artificial Intelligence: Hype, Revolution or Innovation as Usual?” takes place, where researchers and entrepreneurs from across the world discuss the topics.
On 28 February, for the sixth time, the Delta Career Day will bring together companies, institutions, and students from the University of Tartu.
As part of the Ida-Viru County Entrepreneurship Week, on 6 October, Narva College hosted an idea competition for young people to come up with ideas for implementing the green transition. The best idea was that of the students of Narva Upper Secondary School: using textile waste from the sewing industry to make toys for pets.
The group of investors led by Specialist VC and UniTartu Ventures have invested €380,000 in Gearbox Biosciences, a company founded by researchers. With grants, the total funding amounts to over half a million euros.
At the end of 2020, the University of Tartu founded the company UniTartu Ventures OÜ, adding an opportunity to direct the intellectual property created by university’s researchers to research- and technology-intensive companies.
