PROGRAMME: Master's in Information Technology Law

Why did you choose to study this programme?

I have been always fascinated with the intersection between law and technology. With each new technological innovation, a myriad of legal considerations arises, providing the unique opportunity to explore a vast landscape of possibilities, often entangled with complex legal dilemmas. I hold a strong conviction that Information Technology (IT) Law is poised to emerge as one of the foremost disciplines shaping the future. As I decided to focus on this field, I worked on my first master’s degree dissertation on “Cyberwarfare and International Humanitarian Law “. It was during this phase that I found a guiding beacon in the form of the "Tallinn Manual," and it is this discovery that has fueled my aspiration to study in Estonia.

Why Estonia?

Estonia may not be a conventional study destination for Tunisians. My choice to study in Estonia was met with surprise by many friends and family members. Nonetheless, it was the Tallinn Manual that introduced me to Estonia and ignited my desire to further my education there. Upon exploring this exceptional reference work, I came to recognize Estonia as one of the global leaders in the fields of Information Technology and cyber security. I was deeply impressed by the remarkable achievements of this relatively small nation. For the following reasons, Estonia was my first choice.
