PROGRAMME: Bachelor's in Estonian and Finno-Ugric Linguistics

Why did you choose to study this programme?

In 2018, as an exchange student at the University of Tartu, I was immediately attracted by the stunning landscapes in Estonia. Stepping out of Tallinn airport, I felt the clouds were within my arm's reach. On the road to Tartu, I watched cows and sheep graze leisurely, a sight rarely seen in bustling Beijing, my hometown. This memorable experience stirred a deep curiosity about Estonia and its culture, motivating me to delve deeper. Thus, I decided to study Estonian and Finno-Ugric Linguistics to better understand this small but unique country.

Why Estonia?

For me, there is no better place than Estonia to learn Estonian. Here, I have honed my language skills through talking with locals and immersing myself in the vibrant Baltic culture firsthand. As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, the exchange programme left me with a fantastic impression of the peaceful scenes in Tartu, brimming with warm-hearted people, and introduced me to kind and fair teachers who left an indelible mark on my academic journey. I decided to return here to pursue my bachelor's degree.
