Duties and responsibilities
Research, development and creative activities
- Participation in the research, development and creative activities under the supervision of a professor or associate professor.
- International-level research in the volume equivalent to at least 1.5 doctoral theses in five years to fulfill the goals of the TeamPerMed project.
- Development of skills necessary for research, development and creative activities, and professional development.
Teaching and activities related to the administration and development of teaching
- Teaching, using modern teaching methods and educational technology, primarily supervising students of the first and second level of higher education.
- Professional development to enhance teaching and supervising skills.
Participation in the governance and institutional development of the university
- Popularising their specialisation.
Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification.
Required experience
The University of Tartu is looking for a highly motivated researcher in statistical genetics to join our team. We expect the candidate to have:
- ability to participate in the research, development and creative activities of the specialisation.
- International-level research in the specialisation, the volume of which so far is equivalent to at least one doctoral thesis.
- Proficiency in statistical genetics methods and the ability to analyze large-scale genomics data.
- Background knowledge in human genomics, genetic epidemiology, bioinformatics, and population genetics.
- Previous experience working with genomic and health data.
- Prior research experience in the field of statistical genetics or genetic epidemiology.
- Experience in international scientific collaboration.
- Published scientific work in peer-reviewed journals.
Required language skills
Very good command of English.
