Outcome:
A student who has passed the Innovation Microdegree program has field-specific knowledge and skills:
1) Understands global development trends, related opportunities, and challenges;
2) Understands what innovation is, what it is necessary for (long-term competitiveness and profit, wider scope of the organization's mission and impact on society);
3) Has the ability to develop an innovation strategy and tactical plan in his / her organization and/or field of activity;
4) Understands where and how ideas come from (incl. within the company, outside the organization, or also in cooperation), and knows the ways of generating and synthesizing ideas and piloting them;
5) Can find the best of ideas (validation, experimentation, prototyping/piloting, feedback);
6) Is able to turn his / her and team members' ideas into a project (reality) and to manage the team in connection with it, to implement the innovation and entrepreneurship process in their field;
7) Can see the connections of his / her idea with society at large, as well as understand the nature and meaning of public policies, measures, and subsidies (mainly in the field of entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, and science) and initiate change in society, economy and specific organizations.
Starting conditions:
A prerequisite for starting the studies is a bachelor's degree or a corresponding level of education. The micro degree program is conducted in Estonian, but proficiency in English at level B2 is required to understand the international writings and lectures. Registration for the program is based on a letter of motivation.
Teachers:
Academic top-level (professor, assistant professor), strategic manager (experience), practical skills (project management training).
Location info:
Tartu linn The program takes place in session training in Tartu University's Delta Building with web support in the Moodle environment. In session learning, teaching takes place through a combination of video lectures and webinars, supported by independent readings and assignments in the Moodle environment.
Learning environment:
Studies and teaching takes place in appropriate classrooms, which have the required teaching equipment and meet the health and safety requirements.
Requirements to complete:
According to the conditions for passing substances. In order to obtain the microcredit program certificate, it is necessary to successfully pass 100% of the subjects with a total volume of 16 ECTS.
