  • Strong background in protein purification and characterization.
  • Experience with techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and enzyme assays.
  • Proficiency in data analysis using software tools (e.g., Python, R, or MATLAB).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of structural biology techniques (X-ray crystallography, NMR, or cryo-EM).
  • Familiarity with mass spectrometry for protein identification.
  • Postdoctoral experience in protein biochemistry.

Required language skills
Very good command of English. According to the Language Act, academic staff with foreign citizenship working in Estonia must have acquired at least B1-level Estonian language skills after five years of work. We are inviting applications to the Research Fellow of Protein Biochemistry position to team of Estonian Biofoundry at the newly established Institute of Bioengineering. The major focus of the work will be the implementation of the EC Horizon project “Centre for Digitalisation of Biology Towards the Next-Generation of Biosustainable Products”(Teaming project DIGIBIO, Widening for Excellence). The project is built as a teaming partnership with the Novo Nordisk Foundation Centre for Biosustainability at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and Tallinn Technical University.

The DigiBio project will create a research and technology platform for data-driven disruptive bioengineering solutions to accelerate translation of science to manufacturing of next-generation bioproducts. The platform relies on the generation and analysis of big data through integration of automated genome engineering, phenotype screening, high-throughput analytics, and informatics. The Estonian Biofoundry is a member of the Global Biofoundry Alliance.
