On 18 May, thousands of University of Tartu alumni came together again in the student city after five years. The alumni get-together "Back to the university" included lectures and tours of institutes across the city, a sing-along and welcome speeches in front of the main building, a procession, and a grand party in the sports hall.

From 8 May to 20 October, all UT employees, students, alumni and all others interested are welcome to complete the orienteering course and reconnect with the history of the UT dormitories.

Getting ready for the spring get-together, Lauri Räpp meets with well-known, colourful alumni of the University of Tartu to talk with them about their memories of their time at the university, the spirit of their alma mater and why they keep coming back. In January, the Mayor of Tartu Urmas Klaas spoke to him of his student days and brilliant professors.

The University of Tartu’s alumni get-together “Back to the university” on 18 May will feature 2 Quick Start, Justament, the Popsid brass band and DJ Kalev K as performers. The party hosts will be Andres Dvinjaninov and Saara Pius.
