The University of Tartu welcomes all future bachelor’s and medical students to join the Open Doors Day on 29 February 2024 at the University of Tartu Library in Tartu, Estonia.
The open day will start with registration at the University of Tartu Library, where all international students will receive welcome bags. Then, participants can explore the vibrant study fair and visit the International Student Ambassadors table to connect with and learn from fellow students. Rector Professor Toomas Asser will deliver his greetings to the participants.
Alongside the fair, there will be info sessions about bachelor’s curricula in Business Administration and Science and Technology, the integrated bachelor’s and master’s programme in Medicine and degree programmes taught at Narva College (tailored for Ukrainian students). The info sessions will take place in the University of Tartu Library in Kodavere room (on the same floor as the study fair). You can find the info session schedule on the website.
After the info sessions, participants are welcome to explore the university campus and students’ dormitory. We offer two guided campus tours: one for future bachelor’s students in Business Administration and the other for future Science and Technology and Medicine students. The first group will explore the Delta Centre and the dormitory. The second group will visit the Biomedicum, the Institute of Bioengineering and the dormitory. According to Renar Kihho, President of the University of Tartu Student Union, Open Doors Day is the perfect opportunity to get to know the field of interest and the learning environment and make sure you choose the right career. “This is the day when you should use every chance to ask questions and look around to make a firm choice about your studies at the University of Tartu,” Kihho added.
In 2024, Tartu is celebrated as the European Capital of Culture. It is a wonderful opportunity to explore the city during this remarkable year and participate in the exciting cultural events (see the full schedule). Additionally, all open-day participants will also have free access to the university museums. In the evening, our participants are invited to join the concert Harmonia Universitatis. Sten Lassmann's piano evening at 18:00 in the University Assembly Hall in the main building. Entrance for students is free of charge, while regular tickets are priced at EUR 15.90.
