Duties and responsibilities
- Teaching, using modern teaching methods and educational technology, at all levels of higher education.
- Teaching molecular biology workshops, seminars and lectures.
- Supervising students at the first two levels of higher education.
- Development of educational methodologies.
- Activities related to teaching administration and development.
- Professional development, incl. to enhance the teaching and supervising skills.
- Participation in the research, development and creative activities of the structural unit, usually under the supervision of a professor or associate professor.
- Research activity equivalent to at least 2/3 of a doctoral thesis in five years.
- Development of skills necessary for research, development and creative activities and professional development.
- Participation in the work of the university’s decision-making bodies is recommended.
- Popularising science and higher education.
Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification.
Required experience
- Previous teaching experience (in molecular biology, genetic engineering and similar disciplines) at the first and second level of higher education.
- Previous experience in supervising students at the first and second level of higher education.
- Previous teaching experience in e-courses.
- Knowledge of modern teaching aids, learning environments, teaching methods and their development opportunities.
- International-level research in the specialisation, the volume of which is equivalent to at least one doctoral thesis.
Required language skills
Very good Estonian in speech and writing. The candidate’s English skills must be sufficient for communication and writing in his or her speciality.
