Purpose:
The course aims to:
* Provide a comprehensive overview of modern, evidence-based oral care practices.
* Offer detailed instruction on the selection and use of oral care products and techniques, with an emphasis on supporting caregivers, medical personnel, and family members in providing oral hygiene assistance to individuals unable to perform these tasks independently.
Course Content:
* Methodologies for providing oral hygiene care to dependent patients.
* Appropriate products, techniques, and tools for the prevention of oral and dental diseases.
Outcome:
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to:
* Understand the importance of routine oral hygiene practices.
* Identify and recommend suitable methods, products, and tools for the prevention of oral and dental diseases.
* Perform daily oral care procedures effectively.
* Manage resistant or uncooperative behaviour in patients requiring oral care.
* Analyse individual patient needs and adapt oral care strategies accordingly.
* Instruct medical staff or family members on proper oral hygiene techniques for patients unable to care for themselves.
