Outcome:
Learners who completed the course
1) have developed his knowledge of the Estonian language, grammar and vocabulary;
2) improved their knowledge about Estonian culture and way of life.

Starting conditions:
Everyone interested in the Estonian language is welcome to the course, regardless of the level of language skills. Teaching takes place in three level groups, students are divided into groups on the first day of the course.

1. Estonian language learning takes place in three groups of different levels. The content of the study is based on the level of the specific group and the wishes of the learners. Using the communicative language learning method, the course develops all sub-skills, knowledge of grammar and vocabulary; oral and written coping in real language use situations is developed; authentic level-appropriate texts are used, including audio and video recordings.
Tasks in the language environment, participation in the language cafe, independent work.

The participants pay the tuition fee to the Swedish Association of Estonians, who ordered the summer course from the Institute of Estonian and General Linguistics of UT.

Learning environment:
Studies and teaching takes place in appropriate classrooms, which have the required teaching equipment and meet the health and safety requirements.
Schedule and further information:
The intensive Estonian language course takes place in three groups according to language proficiency level. In the intensive course, attention is paid to all sub-skills (writing, reading, listening, speaking) using the communicative language learning method.
Contact learning in the classroom takes place every day for 4 academic hours (from Monday to Friday usually from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.), independent work (including assignments in the language environment), an outing with a cultural program and the possibility of visiting a language cafe for those who need additional explanations or want to practice what they have learned under guidance.
