The guest for the next Barlova Science night (in Estonian) is the grand old man of Estonian astronomy – Jaan Einasto.

It is said that Jaan Einasto is to astronomers what Arvo Pärt is to the music world, a well-known legend in his field. This year marks 75 years since Einasto began his researcher career and 50 years from the publication of the article in Nature magazine on the massive coronas of galaxies, which changed the astronomical picture of the world. Einasto is one of the discoverers of dark matter and the cosmic web. He studies the structure and evolution of the Universe, including the structure of galaxy systems and galaxies and the dynamics of galaxies. Einasto has published more than 300 scientific papers and written several books during his career, and is currently also working on the next book. But what importance does Tähe Street play in his life? The house across the street from Barlova, at Tähe 26, was Einasto's birthhome. In this talk, Jaan Einasto will share his memories of becoming a world famous scientist.
