Become an International Student Ambassador

Current international bachelor's and master’s students can now apply for the International Student Ambassadors (ISA) programme. International Student Ambassadors (ISAs) help the University of Tartu to introduce the university to future international students.

ISA is a mostly volunteer-based programme established in 2012 and is now run by the university's International Cooperation and Protocol Office. The members of ISA are current international degree-seeking bachelor’s and master’s students of the University of Tartu. ISAs help the university introduce itself to future international students by sharing first-hand information about the university and student life in Estonia. ISAs organise events, run the ISA Facebook page and the university’s official Telegram channel, write blog posts for the ISA blog, advise prospective students and host guests in Tartu.

Why join the International Student Ambassadors?

  • A great addition to your CV and demonstrates your advanced organisational skills;
  • Giving advice to prospective students and sharing your experience is a good way of giving back and helping students who are in the same position as you were not long ago;
  • Gain valuable practical skills, e.g. public speaking, writing, and presentation skills;
  • Opportunity to lead projects and gain valuable project management and team-leading experience;
  • Opportunity to build your network - meet new people from Estonia and abroad;
  • Be the face of the university and represent the international student body of UT;
  • Receive a recommendation letter from the International Cooperation and Protocol Office and a certificate signed by the Rector;
  • Freebies: team-building events, Christmas and graduation dinners, UT memorabilia etc.

All ISAs are divided into teams, which they can choose when applying: Facebook, Telegram, Events, and Video. The latter is a new team that creates short video content for the ISA's and university’s social media. Further info about the structure and duties of ISAs is available here

The application deadline is 17 September.
