PROGRAMME: Master’s in Clinical Nutrition
LANGUAGES SPOKEN: Russian, Arabic, English. Learning Estonian.

Why did you choose to study this programme?

Clinical nutrition has always been my dream because it combines my passion for nutrition with the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives. I love the idea of helping patients recover and improve their health through something I love. The University of Tartu’s programme stood out to me because it is everything I imagined clinical nutrition to be. Its curriculum helps students develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to become clinical dietitians.

I particularly enjoy the lectures and learning from my professors’ clinical experience. Every class gives me a deeper understanding of how nutrition can support patients with different medical conditions, and it motivates me to keep learning. In the future, I hope to work as a clinical dietitian in a hospital, supporting patients who need specialised nutritional care, particularly enteral and parenteral nutrition. For me, this career is about combining science, compassion and meaningful patient care.

Why Estonia?

I first heard about the University of Tartu in August 2025, when I started searching for Master’s programmes abroad. This programme stood out to me because it covers everything I believe is essential to becoming a clinical dietitian, with teaching based on scientific research and ESPEN guidelines. My passion for clinical nutrition was the main reason I decided to move here.

Before applying, I had never really heard much about Estonia, but I can confidently say that I am not disappointed! The country is beautiful, peaceful and incredibly well organised. It is calm yet full of life, and I find living here personally fulfilling. I enjoy peaceful walks and, surprisingly, even the weather! Coming from a much warmer place, I never expected to enjoy autumn this much. Winter is yet to surprise me!

I also love discovering Estonian culture and food, especially kohuke! What amazes me most is how thoughtfully everything is organised, from the pavements and public spaces to the visa application process and supermarket checkouts. There is something comforting about how smoothly everyday life works here. Most importantly, living in Estonia has given me a wonderful sense of peace.
