Why did you choose to study this programme?

I never originally planned to end up in Estonia, but life has its surprises, and here I am—and there's no way of getting rid of me now! I chose to study Business Administration because I have always been passionate about entrepreneurship, management, and expanding businesses to a global audience. The University of Tartu stood out to me for its strong academic foundation and the way it blends theoretical knowledge with practical application. Through hands-on sessions and real-world case studies, I have the opportunity to develop essential skills that will help me navigate the dynamic business world. Another key reason for choosing this programme and university is the European education system. It is globally recognised for its high standards and unique approach to learning, particularly in encouraging critical thinking and innovation. In today’s world, where AI tools are becoming increasingly prevalent, the ability to think independently and creatively is more valuable than ever. The University of Tartu fosters this mindset, ensuring that students rely on their own problem-solving abilities while strategically incorporating AI in areas like survey writing rather than overdependence on it. Additionally, the international nature of this programme is a major advantage. It brings together students from all over the world, creating an environment where we can exchange ideas, share cultural perspectives, and understand business practices from different regions. This global exposure is crucial in today’s interconnected world and will undoubtedly shape me into a well-rounded business professional.

Why Estonia?

Several factors influenced my decision to choose Estonia as my study destination. First and foremost, safety played a significant role. Estonia, and particularly Tartu, offers a secure and peaceful environment compared to many other countries. It’s a small city, yet it provides a variety of activities and opportunities without the overwhelming nature of large metropolises. Another decisive factor was the University of Tartu’s reputation. It is ranked highly among European universities, and most importantly, it offers the Business Administration programme in English, which was essential for me. A personal influence on my decision was my sister, who started her bachelor’s in this field at the University of Tartu a year before me. She shared her experiences with me, highlighting the university’s engaging teaching methods, teamwork-driven environment, and exciting extracurricular activities. Her positive feedback reassured me that this was the right choice, and I can confidently say it was worth it!
