University of Tartu participated in the Teaching and Learning Conference in Bordeaux

The third ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Conference took place at the University of Bordeaux from 11 to 13 October 2023. The focus of the conference was on empowering students. 

At the conference, teaching staff members, programme directors, education promoters, students and representatives of many other areas of life shared their experiences and ideas on how to combine innovative teaching methods with ENLIGHT's educational goals. 22 people from the University of Tartu participated in the conference. 

The ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Award was presented for the third time. It recognizes a course or curriculum that implements innovative international pedagogical approaches or learning practices and supports ENLIGHT’s educational goals. The award went to the University of Göttingen for the course "Virtual Exchange for Global Education in Foreign Language Teaching". From the University of Tartu, the course of the Faculty of Social Sciences, "Media in the Era of Disinformation ", along with its follow-up course "Media and Information Literacies' Micro-Interventions", applied for the award.

In 2024, the ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Conference will be held from 7 to 9 October in Tartu.

Doctoral defence: Kerli Martin "Recognition of carboxylates by synthetic receptors - from structure-affinity studies to solid-contact anion-selective electrode prototyping"

Kerli Martin will defend her doctoral thesis "Recognition of carboxylates by synthetic receptors - from structure-affinity studies to solid-contact anion-selective electrode prototyping".
