Duties and responsibilities
  • Lecturing and conducting seminars at all levels of higher education in the area of business applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI), for example AI for business intelligence, decision support, business process management, customer relationship management, and supply chain management.
  • Supervising Master’s and Bachelor’s theses. 
  • Conducting research at the international level in business information systems or software engineering.
  • Engaging in science outreach activities.
  • Participation in the work of the university’s decision-making bodies is recommended.

Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification.

Required experience
  • A successful teaching experience in an institution of higher education at the Bachelor’s and/or Master’s levels is required. 
  • Research experience and publications related to applications of AI in the field of business information systems or software engineering are essential.
  • A track record of publications in highly reputable venues in the field of business information systems or software engineering is mandatory.
  • Experience in supervising Bachelor’s and Master’s students is required.

Required language skills
Excellent command of the English language is required. Estonian is recommended but not required. According to the Language Act, academic staff with foreign citizenship working in Estonia must have acquired at least B1-level Estonian language skills after five years of work. This requirement will be added to the contract. The Centre for Professional Development offers foreigners and their family members the opportunity to participate in Estonian language courses.

Additional information

Salary from 3000 euros (gross) per month, depending on the work experience and qualifications. The total annual payroll is 50,000 euros, which includes taxes by the employer.

The position has an option of promotions (up to the professor position) according to the University of Tartu career model.
