Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct high-level international research and development work in restoration ecology, agroecology, regenerative agriculture, and plant and landscape ecology, with results published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Teach in the fields of plant ecology and restoration ecology at all levels of higher education, supervising students of the first and second level of higher education.
- Apply for, participate in, and lead research and development projects.
- Promote the discipline and raise awareness about restoration ecology.
Required qualifications
PhD in plant ecology, botany or restoration ecology or an equivalent qualification.
Required experience
- At least five years of experience in academia in projects and research related to plant ecology, landscape ecology, and agroecology (including time in post-doc).
- Strong methodological skills in studying plant communities and agricultural ecosystems, including fieldwork experience and proficiency in modern statistical methods for ecological research.
- Capability to organize and deliver teaching at all levels of higher education.
- Author or co-author of at least five scientific articles published in category 1.1 journals according to ETIS (Estonian Research Information System) within the last 10 years.
- Author or co-author of at least five popular science articles or project reports related to the field of ecology.
- Proven experience in supervising or co-supervising bachelor's and master's theses.
Required language skills
Proficiency in Estonian and English, both spoken and written.
Personal qualities
A strong sense of responsibility and excellent collaboration skills, including the ability to organize activities of the working group.
