Duties and responsibilities
  • High-level international research and development in the fields of plant and soil ecology, published in scientific journals of the research field.
  • Design, implement, and validate high-throughput metabarcoding and metagenomic pipelines.
  • Develop custom computational workflows integrating sequence processing, taxonomic assignment, and statistical analysis.
  • Process, manage, and analyze large-scale environmental DNA datasets with reproducible methods.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate computational expertise with diverse research perspectives.
  • Generate detailed visualizations and geospatial maps to illustrate biodiversity patterns.
  • Organize and conduct training workshops and seminars on bioinformatic and statistical data analytics.

Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification.

Required experience
  • Experience of participation in large Estonian and international research projects as a team member.
  • Author/co-author of at least 5 research articles during the last 5 years that qualify in category 1.1 in ETIS.
  • At least 5 years of experience in bioinformatics.

Required language skills
Spoken and written knowledge of English. Knowledge of the Estonian language at least at B1 level.
