His Excellency Ambassador of France Emmanuel Mignot had a meeting with rector and held a seminar at Skytte Institute

On 28 November, the Ambassador of France to Estonia, His Excellency Emmanuel Mignot, visited the University of Tartu.

The ambassador and the rector talked about promoting cooperation in research and education, joint curricula, joint supervision of doctoral students and knowledge transfer. As France is very interested in green turn and renewable energy, the rector introduced the University of Tartu’s principles of sustainable development to the ambassador. It was pleasant to note that almost half of the French community living in Tartu is affiliated with the university and that French students are very satisfied with their studies and living arrangements here.

After the meeting with the rector, the ambassador visited the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies, where he held a seminar for students on security, international relations and the future of Europe.

Emmanuel Mignot started as the Ambassador of France to Estonia on 30 July this year. His first visit to the University of Tartu was in August when he attended the inauguration ceremony of Rector Toomas Asser.
