More than 30 years old 2nd and 3rd reading room the library of the University of Tartu have been renovated during the past year and were reopened on December 12.
The floors have received a new carpeting, the ceiling and walls have been painted and all chairs and tables have been replaced. The aim of the interior design of the reading rooms was to maintain their air of the 30-year-old history of the rooms.
The new furniture has been designed according to the initial interior design of the library. The readers can now use 40 new tables and over 300 new chairs. Additionally, more than 40 new bookshelves have been bought.
