In 2023, the ENLIGHT Impact Award was awarded to the research group of Kati Orru, Associate Professor of Sociology of Sustainability at the University of Tartu. They developed an analysis tool that helps crisis management agencies to better identify threats to people's lives arising from natural disasters, pandemics, cyber attacks, wars and other emergency situations. According to Kati Orru, the impact award has given her the opportunity to reach a wider audience and potential users through the ENLIGHT network, and the financial support that came with the award has helped introduce the work at conferences and decision-making bodies.
