President of Albania Bajram Begaj visited the University of Tartu

Last Friday, 6 September, President of the Republic of Albania Bajram Begaj and his wife Armanda Begaj visited Tartu. Among other things, the president visited the University of Tartu and met Rector Toomas Asser. 

The president was given a tour of the main building and introduced to the University of Tartu Art Museum. In addition, Bajram Begaj met with the Mayor of Tartu Urmas Klaas and visited with his delegation the Tartu University Hospital, Baltic Defence College and Tartu Art Museum. 

The President of Albania, a candidate country for accession to the European Union, Bajram Begaj and his wife were on a two-day visit to Estonia at the invitation of President Alar Karis. The visit focused on the integration of the Western Balkan countries into the Euro-Atlantic region, the future of Europe, the strengthening of the security and economic space and support for Ukraine, all of which helped to reaffirm the good bilateral relations between the two countries.
