View your future classrooms, dormitory or bicycle parking possibilities on the updated virtual tour

The updated virtual tour of the University of Tartu at virtualtour.ut.ee/en enables everyone interested to get to know the university’s learning and research environment already before arriving there. In addition, the tour gives an overview of bicycle parking and accessibility at the university buildings.

The virtual tour introduces the university’s faculties, institutes and other units, such as dormitories, museums and the library. The 360-degree photos on the virtual tour were taken during learning and research activities to give viewers a better idea of everyday life at the university. All locations are accompanied by descriptions and links to the university web pages, where you can find out more about the particular unit. If you are particularly attentive, you may spot the university's mascot Tiksu during the tour.

All in all, the tour includes nearly two hundred 360-degree images. Fourteen new photos of the university hospital, the sports hall, the Institute of Technology, the library of the School of Law, the Student Union office, and Narva College were added this spring. Now, it is also possible to click on the bicycle icon on the photo of the exterior of a building to read about bicycle parking and see pictures of all bike racks.

The virtual tour of the University of Tartu is reportedly the largest in Europe, covering 40 academic buildings and over 160 locations in five cities. If you click on the menu in the top right-hand corner, a map interface opens, showing the locations of buildings and the distances between them. It is possible to follow the tour on a computer or a smart device.
