Duties and responsibilities
- Teaching Distributed Systems and Network Technology courses at all higher education levels.
- Actively conducting research in the field of Distributed and Pervasive Systems.
- Supervising research work of students.
- Preparing proposals and grant applications.
- Popularisation of the specialization.
Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification.
Required experience
- Candidates are expected to have teaching experience on the bachelor’s and/or master's levels.
- Good knowledge of distributed and pervasive systems concepts, including replication, election algorithms, consensus, quorums, and broadcast algorithms.
- Experience with network technology and distributed frameworks, e.g., etcd, Zookeeper, Hadoop.
- Knowledgeable with research in the field of pervasive data science and mobile sensing.
- Research experience and a track record of publications in highly reputable venues in the field of specialization or a related field are desirable.
- Experience in supervising students and conducting e-learning is also highly desirable.
- Candidates focusing on distributed algorithms, edge computing, IoT, IoT architectures, and pervasive computing domains are highly encouraged to apply.
Required language skills
Excellent command of English required. Estonian is recommended but not required. According to the Language Act, academic staff with foreign citizenship working in Estonia must have acquired at least B1-level Estonian language skills after five years of work. This requirement will be added to the contract. The Centre for Professional Development offers foreigners and their family members the opportunity to participate in Estonian language courses.
Salary
From 3000 € / per month
