Duties and responsibilities
- Analyzing the exchange of CO2, CH4, N2O, and H2O between the ecosystem and the atmosphere using various state-of-the-art methods (eddy covariance, biometric, tree stem/soil chambers).
- Analyzing ecosystem carbon, nitrogen, water, and energy balance, linking different flux components and finding correlations.
- Carrying out pre- and post-processing and data quality control of eddy covariance data.
- Carrying out statistical data analysis.
- Writing and publishing scientific articles in top peer-reviewed journals of the field and presenting research findings at conferences and seminars.
- Developing and enhancing skills necessary for scientific, developmental, and creative activities.
- Conducting teaching in Estonian and English at a modern methodological level, including supervising master's and doctoral students.
- Popularizing the field of expertise in Estonian and English.
Required qualifications
PhD in geography, environmental technology or related field or equivalent qualification.
Required experience
- In-depth and substantiated experience of analyses of greenhouse gas data based on eddy-covariance techniques, and experience in handling large data sets.
- International experience, participation in the work of the international community in the field of eddy covariance studies, including published articles in the top peer-reviewed journals of the field.
Required language skills
Good Estonian and very good English are required.
