On 13 March, the President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will visit the University of Tartu, where he will give a speech “Democracy and the Geostrategic Situation in Europe and the World” at 14:15 at the assembly hall. The university family and all others are welcome to listen and ask questions.
The state visit of the President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to Estonia lasts from 11 to 15 March. On 13 March, his delegation will arrive in Tartu and will be welcomed by Mayor Urmas Klaas.
At 14:15 at the assembly hall, President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will give his speech in English “Democracy and the Geostrategic Situation in Europe and the World”, followed by a public discussion.
The visit to Tartu ends with a tour of the Estonian National Museum.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa is a Portuguese politician, political observer, journalist and professor of law. Since 2016, he is the President of Portugal. In 2019, President Kersti Kaljulaid awarded him the Order of Merit of the Cross of Terra Mariana, Collar Class.
