Join UniTartu Summer School 2025

The University of Tartu Summer School 2025 will take place from 28 July to 8 August, offering 10 interdisciplinary courses across a variety of fields.

This year’s summer school offers courses in international relations, immunology, biology, politics, patient communication, robotics, semiotics, materials science, diagnostic techniques, and machine learning. Compared to 2024, four new courses have been introduced in the Faculty of Science and Technology, the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities to address the emerging needs:

  • Atomic layer deposition – the intersection of materials science, physics, chemistry and industry (read more here) – exploring the intersection of materials science, physics, chemistry, and industry

  • 1st Summer School on HRI-Social Robotics (read more here)– focusing on human-robot interaction and robotics in society
  • Self-Driving Cars (read more here) – covering the latest developments in autonomous vehicle technology
  • Computational Immunology Summer School (read more here) – bridging immunology and data science for medical advancements
  • Semiotics, Technology and Society (read more here) – exploring the impact of technology on society

In 2024, UniTartu Summer School welcomed 115 students from 44 countries, creating a truly dynamic and interdisciplinary learning environment.

Beyond studying, participants also engage in cultural and active study visits, which offer them a chance to explore Estonia’s rich history, nature, and vibrant student life.

Each summer course has its own course fee, which covers study materials, academic sessions with lecturers, a certificate of completion, and five cultural events in the evenings. The fee does not include transportation, accommodation, or lunch during summer school.

The application period for the UniTartu Summer School is from 1 to 30 April. Only fully completed applications, including all required annexes, submitted by the deadline will be considered for selection. If you apply by 7 April 2025, you can get the early-bird discount of -10%.

A variety of scholarships are available for students applying to the UniTartu Summer School 2025, including the Estonian national scholarships and 10 ENLIGHT scholarships for students from ENLIGHT partner universities to support their participation in the programme.

Additionally, the University of Tartu offers three full tuition waivers for highly motivated students, allocated to the following courses:

  • One scholarship for "Patient-centred Communication: Based on Motivational Interviewing" (read more here)
