The new Career Hub website of the University of Tartu provide information and advice to support learning paths and careers planning.
The Career Hub aims to give a holistic understanding of career development principles and offer them self-analysis tools. There are also valuable resources for lecturers and programme directors for supporting students. The Career Hub supports bachelor’s and master’s students during their studies and offers a good overview of university studies for new entrants.
The website has six main topics:
“What we understand under career is a rewarding professional self-realisation. Career development is a continuous process because we and our goals and plans and the world around us are constantly changing,” explained Monika Tasa, the Career Hub project manager, Development Adviser at the Office of Academic Affairs. “Career planning is about managing your life and making informed choices. This requires knowing yourself, looking for and exploring opportunities, and being able to plan your activities, make decisions and take action,” said Tasa.
The website is part of the University of Tartu’s academic development activities and was created by a working group led by the vice rector for academic affairs. It will be managed by the university’s Counselling Centre.
