A delegation from the University of Bern visited the University of Tartu to learn about its structure and management, with a view to following our example and carrying out a major reorganisation of their institution.
The main topics of the meeting were the governance of the University of Tartu, its structure, financial and HR work, digital development in teaching and research, and entrepreneurial freedom. The University of Bern has selected five universities from across Europe to draw on their experience to make its own restructuring as effective as possible. Besides the University of Tartu, representatives from the University of Bern also visit our partners at the University of Helsinki in Finland, Radboud University in the Netherlands and the University of Tübingen in Germany, as well as their partner university in Switzerland.
The University of Bern was founded in 1833 and has eight faculties with a total of 13,000 students. At the end of 2022, the University of Bern became the tenth university to join the ENLIGHT network.
