I have always had a particular affinity for science, and having done well in science-related subjects in high school, I decided to pursue the BSc programme at UT in Science and Technology. This degree truly equipped me for the scientific field, being full of introductory courses to a large variety of fields, from Electronics to Developmental Biology. Most importantly, my bachelor's degree shaped my journey from an indecisive teenager into a focused young scientist with a well-defined research interest. Overall, considering the high quality of education and my familiarity with the campus, I decided to continue my studies at the University of Tartu in the MSc Bioengineering programme.

Why Estonia?

Originally, I knew close to nothing about Estonia; however, when the time came to apply to universities, I noticed how this specific institution has quite a good ranking. I already had some friends who studied at the University of Tartu, so hearing about their stories, their daily lives, and most importantly, their studies, I became more and more attracted to this country and town overall. I personally prefer a more close-knit and peaceful environment to live in, so Tartu was pretty ideal for me. Estonia has a beautiful, unique nature and climate, extremely different from my home country, Azerbaijan, so it’s always a pleasure to experience this other side of the world.
