Research Fellow in Artificial Intelligence
Faculty of Science and Technology, Institute of Computer Science
We are a dynamic and growing research group aiming to expand our research and supervision capabilities. Our primary focus is on biomedical image analysis using advanced deep learning techniques. Examples of our projects include weakly-supervised segmentation models, enhancing U-Net with transformer blocks and histopathology workflow automation.
We collaborate closely with industry partners to develop cutting-edge tools that help practitioners automate and enhance workflow efficiency. In addition to applied projects, we conduct independent research.
Our group is diverse and active, with many MSc students and a few PhD students contributing to an energetic and collaborative environment. We have a stable funding stream and a steady flow of exciting, impactful projects. To support this, we seek a motivated postdoctoral researcher to help us scale our research and strengthen our capacity for student supervision.
The University of Tartu is the biggest and oldest centre of academic life in Estonia - we have over 4,000 employees and 14,000 students. The unique intellectual atmosphere and fine living and working environment that characterise Tartu have attracted prominent scientists and experts for almost 400 years. Join the university family!
