Duties and responsibilities
  • Participating in research and development activities under the supervision of a professor or associate professor.
  • Conducting internationally recognized research equivalent to at least 1.5 PhD theses within five years, including writing and publishing affective psychology related theoretical review articles in internationally recognized research journals.
  • Conducting research projects related to affective psychology, including data collection, laboratory work coordination, data analysis, interpretation, and publication of results in internationally recognized research journals.
  • Presenting research findings at professional, including international, conferences.
  • Teaching within the field of affective psychology.
  • Professional development to enhance skills in teaching and supervision.
  • Supervising students at bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels.
  • Participating in dissemination and outreach activities that promote the field of expertise.
  • Participating in the work of university’s administrative and developmental decision-making bodies and other similar administrative activities.

Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification.

Required experience
  • Proficiency in contemporary social science research methods and their application in both teaching and research.
  • Experience in utilizing various research methods in affective psychology, including self-report measures, behavioral assessments, and electrophysiological metrics (e.g., electroencephalography or EEG) in experimental research.
  • The applicant is expected to have experience in conducting internationally recognized research, including publishing peer-reviewed articles in affective and experimental psychology. Additionally, the applicant should have knowledge and experience with self-report, behavioral, and electrophysiological measures (including EEG), as well as experience in supervising and teaching students.
  • Experience in dissemination and outreach activities as well as publishing at a high international level, including experience in publishing both empirical and theoretical review articles.
  • Experience in conducting or managing research projects.
  • Knowledge of modern teaching tools, learning environments, teaching methods, and their development.
  • Capability to organize and conduct teaching at all higher education levels.
  • Prior teaching experience at least at the first two levels of higher education.
  • Experience in successfully supervising students.

Required language skills
Excellent command of Estonian and English.

Personal qualities

Good teamwork and communication skills.
