On 6 August, Rector Toomas Asser signed the University of Tartu alumni relations strategy for 2025–2035. We spoke with Head of Alumni Relations Kaisa Hansson about the role alumni play at the university and how she envisions the future of collaboration with them.

Annabel Agasild, a bachelor’s student in psychology at the University of Tartu, took part in the university's mentoring programme and shares her experience.

Aivo Renser, alumnus of the University of Tartu School of Economics and Business Administration, participated as a mentor in the mentoring programme in the 2024/2025 academic year.

This year’s mentoring programme, which drew a record number of participants – 167 mentoring pairs, ended on 19 February.

The newly elected director said that the University of Tartu School of Law has a special mission to ensure the raising of a new generation of Estonian lawyers.

The mentoring programme will be held again this autumn semester, welcoming students, alumni and university staff to apply until 23 September.

Seitsmenda samba fond

The University of Tartu will organise its alumni get-together with the slogan “Back to the university” on 18 May 2024. Early-bird tickets at special rates are available from 1 December.

The programme celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2022. Many students have graduated from the programme.

The Economic Impact of International Students analysis shows that in 2021/2022, international degree students contributed 14 million euros and international graduates over 8 million euros in taxes.
