Memory Studies in Estonia – Workshop at Tartu University

On 15 November 2013 the first Memory Studies Workshop will take place at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education (Lossi 36), room 306. It is organised by a team of researchers from the UTs Institute of Government and Politics/CEURUS, the History Department and the Institute of Culture Studies and Art.

The aim of the Workshop is to offer a forum for researchers of memory and related issues in Estonia to introduce and discuss their latest study results and exchange ideas with other scholars interested in the field. The organisers believe that this event will create interdisciplinary synergies by raising questions that would remain unnoticed within one academic discipline. Finally, the aim is to make this into an annual event in order to facilitate the creation of a distinct “memory studies profile” in Estonia that may engender further international research cooperation in the future.
