President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulou visited the University of Tartu

From Monday to Wednesday, President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulou is paying an official visit to Estonia. On Tuesday, she visited the University of Tartu and met the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Aune Valk and the Vice Rector for Development Erik Puura.

On the second day of her visit, the Greek president also met the Mayor of Tartu Urmas Klaas, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Estonia Villu Kõve and will go to the Estonian National Museum.

The official visit marks the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Estonia and Greece. Greece recognised the Republic of Estonia on 19 May 1922.

Sakellaropoulou met President Alar Karis on Monday and will meet President of the Riigikogu Jüri Ratas and First Vice-President of the Riigikogu Hanno Pevkur on Wednesday morning. Later on, the Estonian and Greek heads of state will visit Collegium Educationis Revaliae (Tallinna Vanalinna Hariduskolleegium) to give the guest an overview of the Estonian education system and the education opportunities of Ukrainian war refugees.
