SSEL Cluster Conference on Social Responsibility in Challenging Times

The U4Society Social Sciences, Economics and Law (SSEL) Online Conference on Social Responsibility in Challenging Times will be held on 7–8 October 2021. The conference aims to bring together researchers and PhD students from the participating U4 Society Network universities (Ghent, Göttingen, Groningen, Uppsala and Tartu) and the universities from the ENLIGHT consortium (Basque Country, Bordeaux, Comenius Bratislava, Galway, Ghent, Göttingen, Groningen, Tartu and Uppsala).

The conference theme provides an opportunity to discuss the challenges of the modern world that require understanding of various aspects of politics and democracy as well as education, migration, well-being, governance in the digital era, the welfare state, childhood vulnerability, gender, personality, productivity, residential segregation and the replication crisis. The conference encourages a discussion on the role of social sciences in the modern world and allows participants to gather a broader view reaching out from the borders of the narrow field of specialisation.

Registration is open until 4 October 2021.
