UT organises an international Erasmus programme training week

From 5–9 May, the University of Tartu organises within the framework of external training of staff an international week introducing our university (Erasmus Staff Training Week).

Although Erasmus is first and foremost a student exchange programme, it also offers opportunities for teaching staff exchange and external trainings of staff. The international week is a good opportunity to learn about the work of our colleagues in other countries, exchange experiences, find cooperation partners and introduce the University of Tartu as a student and teaching staff exchange destination.

Interest in the international week organised by the University of Tartu has been great. 13 participants are expected from different EU member states and from Turkey, most of who are involved in the library work or communication and marketing in their home university. The participants of the training week also include representatives of other areas of activity, for example employees involved in academic affairs, an IT-specialist, teaching staff. The countries represented are Spain, Italy, Greece, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Finland and Turkey.

During the week, the guests get acquainted with the university, get an overview of the studying and research activity, digital services, the area of multimedia and social media and the information systems. The training week also accommodates a tour of the city of Tartu and a barge ride on the Emajõgi; a mini-course on the Estonian language and culture should broaden the minds of all participants.

In addition to the general presentations, the visitors have the opportunity to meet their colleagues in faculties and support structures.

The international week at the University of Tartu is organised by the Personnel Office, the Office of Academic Affairs and the International Cooperation Unit in cooperation with faculties and structural units.
