Opening of the academic year 2022/2023 of the University of Tartu

Opening of the academic year 2022/2023 of the University of Tartu will be held on Monday, 29 August at 10:00 in front of the University of Tartu main building.

To celebrate the start of the academic year, students will be greeted by Rector Toomas Asser, Minister of Education and Research Tõnis Lukas, Mayor of Tartu Urmas Klaas, President of the UT Student Union Katariina Sofia Päts and a representative of first-year student Emma Lotta Lõhmus. The Tartu Academic Male Choir will perform under the guidance of conductor Kuno Kerge, and the university's mascot Tiksu will also take part in the event. UT souvenirs and printed matter can be bought from a pop-up shop of the UT e-shop.

The lyrics of the songs to be performed at the opening ceremony, “The Money Song” and “Gaudeamus”, are available on the university's website.
