In July and August 2026, all University of Tartu students and staff can train at the University of Tartu Academic Sports Club’s fitness club at an exceptionally good price: for just €19 per month.
Kadri Kriisa, the fitness club manager at the University of Tartu Academic Sports Club, said that summer is a great time to build or strengthen exercise habits: “Regular physical activity strengthens the body, improves sleep, reduces stress and boosts energy. When exercise becomes a habit, it is much easier to maintain it even after the holiday period,” Kriisa noted.
In addition to summer activities such as swimming, running, hiking and cycling, the sports club offers an excellent opportunity to stay active at the fitness club, where group classes take place throughout the summer for both beginners and advanced participants. Visitors can also use a three-storey gym and changing rooms with saunas.
The discounted 30-day passes are available for purchase only in July. To get the pass, register at the sports club’s front desk. During registration, present proof of your status at the university: a UT employee ID or a student card. Access rights will be linked to your ID card, and you will receive a username and password enabling you to register for group training sessions online.
University staff and students who already have a valid pass for the summer can also take advantage of this offer. In July, they can buy the 30-day discount pass or passes that can be used after their current pass expires.
Physical activity supports both physical and mental well-being. We encourage all students and staff members to stay active in the summer and find ways to keep enjoying exercising during the holiday period.
